While applying for the field of study: Sustainable Energy Engineering the personal data processed by the Silesian University of Technology in connection with admission process will be also transferred to the Técnico Lisboa university in Lisbon.

Description of the course

Graduate profile

Sustainable Energy Engineering graduates are high-level professionals in fields that include all aspects of energy transition. The SEE course educates future decision makers in the fields of energy, energy transition, sustainability management and environmental engineering.

The program covering all aspects of energy transition such as:

  • renewable energy,
  • low emission combustion,
  • circular economy,
  • new generation alternative fuels,
  • waste to energy,
  • efficiency of power systems,
  • energy storage,
  • decommissioning,
  • world energy policy.

Additionally the program delivers skills related to management together with soft skills – like presentation, discussion, making influence, problem solving and making value judgements. The program is shaping leadership skills together with ability to work in a group on different positions.

The program is flexible in delivery. Students can shape the study path according to their preferences choosing different modules – especially during the second year.

The program provides students with a rich and diverse environment conducive to gaining knowledge as well as a multicultural experience due to the international character of the study.

The engineering content is enriched by content dedicated to shaping business and entrepreneurial skills and behavioral competencies.

Fees

Studies in Poland implemented at the Silesian University of Technology follow the general rules, which means that they are free of charge for polish and European students.

International (non-EU) students (1st year – SUT, Poland):

  • 1900€ for 1st semester
  • 1800€ for 2nd semester

Continuation of studies (2nd year - IST, Portugal) involves a fee of 1064€/year of study for Polish/EU students.
Continuation of studies (2nd year - IST, Portugal) for international/nonEU students involves a fee of 7000€/year.


Admission criteria

Admission process takes place only via the IRK system.

First, create a profile and fill in all the fields. Then, you need to upload to the system all the documents listed on the website in the tab required documents and pay an application fee.

After the amount of application fee is credited to the University account, the documents are checked for formal terms. The Admission Office verifies whether the certificate or diploma entitles to undertake studies at the chosen level, whether the language certificate is at the required level, and the authenticity of the documents is also checked.

In the next step, the documents are sent to the Faculty Coordinator. This is where the substantive evaluation of the documents takes place. The grades in individual subjects are also recalculated. Each application is considered individually. It is the Faculty Coordinator who decides whether or not to qualify a candidate for studies. A positive decision of the Faculty Coordinator is the basis for submitting the application for consideration by the partner University. Based on the positive decisions of both universities, the Admission Office prepares a conditional acceptance letter with information about the tuition fee payment for the first semester of studies.

After the amount of tuition fee is credited to the University account, the final acceptance documents needed in the visa procedure will be prepared (the final acceptance letter with a certificate of admission to studies).

After receiving the visa, its scan should be immediately sent to the Admission Office, only after receiving the scan it is possible to book a place in one of the university student dorms.

Amount of tuition fees for studies

For the cycle of education from the academic year 2023/2024, the following tuition fees apply for education at studies:

First Semester: 1 900  EUR
Subsequent semesters: 8 300 PLN
